Miami Dolphins outlook of 1st day Free Agency

Friday was a huge day. In my opinion, it ranked just as well as the MLB Trade Deadline does every year. There were so many moves and some where ood some where bad. Here is my list of 1st day winners and Losers......

Miami Dolphins: The Phins were 1-15 last year, the worst season in team history. In the early off-season, they fired coach Cam Cameron and General Manager Randy Mueller to grab a few guys from Dallas. They first hired Bill Parcells, who then hired Jeff Ireland to be General mangers, who then hired Tony Sparano to be Head Coach. They cut plenty of players, including QB Trent Green and LB Zach Thomas, in favor of more younger players.

First Day Signings

Josh McCown/QB formerly of the Oakland Raiders

Ernest Wilford/WR formerly of the Jacksonville Jaguars

Sean Ryan/TE formerly of the New York Jets

Justin Smiley/G formerly of the San Francisco 49ers

Randy Starks/DT formerly of the Tennessee Titans

Reggie Torbor/LB formerly of the New York Giants

Then Ireland and Parcells made a deal with the Dallas Cowboys for DT Jason Ferguson. The two teams would swap 6th round picks and the Cowboys would get the Dolphins 2009 6th round pick.

The Dolphins only lost 1 player to Free Agency yesterday, that being Cleo Lemon.
